GamFratesi – a design fusion

What happens when you combine classic Danish craft tradition with an Italian conceptional approach? You get design studio GamFratesi founded in 2006 by danish architect Stine Gam and italian architect Enrico Fratesi. The studio is based in Copenhagen and you probably know their work for Danish Gubi and Fredericia Furniture. However, the designduo has been very productive and I love their style, use of marials, fabrics and colors. Take a look at my favorites.

Living space

Living space is the perfect word for our dinning-, kitchen and tv room which are three rooms all brought together. The open kitchen and dinning room space is especially nice when we have company because you can prepare dinner while still being a part of the conversion. The renovation of these three rooms hasn’t been extensive. We removed an old built-in book case and had the wall rebuilt. Otherwise we just painted the walls and sanded the 60 year old oak floors. Because the room where we wanted to place our sofa had a pinewood floor, we decided to place a wall to wall carpet to reduce the diference between the very beautiful oak hiring bone floors and the pinewood.

Now we just need a little bit more on the walls, but I’m already pretty happy about the result. Here are some pics to give you an idea of what I’m talking about…

——————–

Bedroom harmony

IMG_3007Bedroom done and I’m happy with the result. Being pregnant I need my sleep and this room with lots of light, view and space around me is perfect for me. I really looked forward to the decoration of exactly this room because we spend a lot of hours here – all tree (soon the be four) of us. One thing missing is a side table or a nice chair next to the bed – but this just have to come later on.
