Eye candy…

Normann_Copenhagen_Daily_Fiction_23Friday I took Ava on a trip to Normann Copenhagen to celebrate the launch of a new collection of designs for day-to-day use such as notebooks, gift wrapping, stickers, pencil sharpeners, scissors and much more. There are actually more than 200 small designs to choose from and it all goes under the name Daily Fiction. Normann has teamed up with the Copenhagen-based design agency Femmes Régionales to create a conceptual universe where all aspects down to the last detail are thought through. Maybe I don’t need another notebook or pencil but I really like the cool paterns, colors and style this serie brings into the world of design.

5 from Hay

Paper Porcelain

It’s time for fall news 2014 and there are a lot of great news about the hit the stores. I have picked 5 favorites from Hay’s accessory line. I especially like the service in porcelain (above) that looks like coarse paper. The collection is made by Scholten & Baijing who created the service for an exhibition. Now, the paper model has been realized in a specially developed porcelain material that lets the tiny iron specks in the porcelain show, in imitation of the matt and tactile quality of recycled paper. The series includes an espresso cup, a coffee cup, a mug and a tea plate.

Colour Tray

Another product from Scholten & Baijings is Colour Tray that combines the hardness of bamboo and the natural ornamentation of the grain with an iconic fluorescent touch on edges and surfaces. The Tray comes in three versions.

Cord Hanger Fade yellow

Cord hanger has hardwearing and colourful polyester string wrapped around a metal hanger to add a little friction to a practical everyday item. I like the soft colors.

Lup Wall

Lup Wall is the classic candle holder transformed into a physical line drawing in black painted metal or copper wire. It has a playful narrative character and blend into the existing family of Lup candle holders.

I love clocks! This Analog clock is inspired by the classic barometer. Designer Shane Schneck has made watch that are three-dimensional rather than flat and is a tribute to an old school analog watch as a contrast to our digital world.

Favorites from DesignTrade 2014

Ballon mirrors from EO

Yesterday on my day off from work I took a trip to Bella Center where this years DesignTrade took place. It is the largest design and furniture trade fair in Copenhagen, hosting more than 380 leading exhibitors from Denmark and abroad. I took my camera (and my new Ona bag) and spent most of the day talking to creative and dedicated designers and retailers and seeing amazing new designs. So – of course I want to share this experience with you. Take a look at my favorite products from the fair.

Hang it up

I have a handfull of favoerites when it comes to cloth racks. When Martin moved in he brought his Hay Loop Stand Wardrobe that does the job perfectly all right with its simple expression that dosen’t make too much noise in the our bedroom. However we might replace it if we move so here are some I definitely would consider. Have a great weekend!

Give away – DWL by Holmegaard

My home office means everything to me and as you know i’m a sucker for nice containers and pots you can use for storage. I also like when things are multifunctional like Holmegaard’s beautiful blown glass containers designed by Maria Berntsen. The series, Design With Light, has a cool expression where glas and leather are combined and the containers, that comes in three different sizes, are perfect for my pens, scissors and other stuff or they can be used as vases for flowers, for small candles or just as decoration.

Give away
Are you also in love with this design? Well, you can be the happy owner of one small (11 cm) and one medium (15,5 cm) DWL pot like the ones I have in my home office. All you have to do is to follow this blog and write a comment with your name or email so I can get a hold of you if you win. If you share this give away on your own blog, Facebook or Instagram you will get 2 tickets per share in the final lottery that will end on Thursday April 3.

Hall way upgrade

Hall way up

Our house is from the 1930’s and there are constantly projects that can be done. At the moment we are redecorating the bathroom and next will be the kitchen. In the meantime we have done some simple things to upgrade our hall way with new coat-  and shoe racks and a little bit of fresh paint!

I have looked forever for a nice shoe rack. Of course you can buy one at Ikea but to be honest I think they are too plain. Finally I found one that is stylish with a little twist of something raw and industrial. Sko shoe rack is designed by Simon Legald for Normann Copenhagen. It has a frame in ash with white or grey shelves. For jackets and coats we wanted something that was decorative as much as it was functional and found Gubi’s Matégot Coatrack. It is so nice that I’m actually having a hard time covering it with jackets! Other than that we have just painted the walls and stair case in its original colors and brought a little bit of Spring and Summertime inside with a lemon tree.

New dots in ash

Creativ Boards

My love for wood is no exception when it comes to Muuto‘s Dots that now comes in natural ash wood. The hooks, designed by Lars Tornøe, were launched some years ago in different colors but I like it all natural. The feel of them is great with the round edges and they look nice both alone or in a pattern with different sizes.
